Samsung Galaxy Alpha, S5, S5 Neo, Tab A and S6 Edge Updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The big search engine company has already started rolling the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update for some Nexus devices. However, other manufacturers such as Samsung are now releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for their smartphones and tablets.

According to SamsungViet, a well known Samsung tipster, a good amount of Samsung devices, smartphones and tablets, will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update in the first quarter of 2016. It seems that the South Korean based company will start releasing the update for the current Galaxy Note series along with the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 Duos.

The rollout is also imminent for the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Duos, as well as for the previous lineups such as the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, Galaxy S5 Neo and Galaxy S5.

When it comes to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Alpha, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update will be released a bit later, sometime in the second quarter of 2016.

However, it’s not sure yet if Samsung is planning to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update on these devices or the company will release directly the Android 6.0.1 update for them. If Samsung will keep the pattern of releasing updates like in the past, the devices will jump over the base Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, directly to the latest Android OS version that will be available then (currently, it is Android 6.0.1).

According to Android Authority, the Galaxy S6 device was already spotted on a benchmark website, where it was seen running on Android 6.0.1 version.

Do you think that many Samsung devices will jump directly to Android 6.0.1 and skip the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS?

Nokia C1 Release With Windows 10 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Images of the Nokia C1 shows that the company’s new product will come in two versions: Windows 10 and Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Earlier this year, Nokia, the Finnish company that was once the absolute leader in the market of mobile phones, has confirmed that they will return to the smartphone market at the end of 2016. Note that due to contractual obligations from businesses with Microsoft, Nokia must wait until 2016 for the launch of new mobile devices.

Now Nokia C1 appeared after some leaked images on the Internet. All information and rumors have suggested that the phone will use a variation of the Android operating system and will run the Z Launcher app from Nokia. The new information shows that the smartphone will come in a version that will be powered by Windows 10. This means that there will be two versions of the phone with two operating systems.

In addition, an image from September shows the camera placed on the center of the back cover, while the last image shows the camera placed in the top left corner. Nokia C1 will be available in several colors: white, gold, pink and gray.

According to the leaks, Nokia C1 could be equipped with 5-inch FHD display, an 8 megapixel camera on the back (or a 13MP one) and 5 megapixel front camera. Also, it appears that will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Earlier reports suggested that Nokia C1 will have an Intel processor and 2GB of RAM.

Until we have more information from Nokia on its future smartphone, these rumors should be treated as such.

Samsung Galaxy E7 To Receive The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update In 2016

On the other hand, Samsung’s Galaxy E7 will need to wait a bit longer until it will finally receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update, according to a leaked document, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is waiting to be approved for this device.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be released for the Galaxy E7 (SM-E700H model) in 2016, but we’re not sure yet when exactly this will happen, hopefully, Samsung will come with more details about this before the Christmas holidays.

The Galaxy E7 was released in January 2015 with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. However, soon enough, the device was updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop and can now be updated to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Do you think that the Galaxy E7 will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in January 2016 or it will take longer until this device will receive the latest Android OS?
