WhatsApp Downloads For 2015: Why Everyone Loves WhatsApp

Who had thought in 2009 that Whatsapp will be such a big hit all over the world and will sit amongst some of the top mobile messenger apps in just a few years. Millions of people around the globe are in love with this beautiful app which has modified the mobile online communication in an unprecedented way. There are many reasons why it has grown so big and why it is still on a high as Whatsapp developers have entered into collaboration with Facebook.

One of the reasons is that Whatsapp automatically develops the contacts unlike other apps which include Skype, Facebook Messenger, GTalk etc. where you have to do the labor of constructing your own contact list. Another reason is that Whatsapp has taken the place of conventional texting and has almost ruled out the way when you sent a message through telephonic network and waited in case there is some problem with the network. This was the basic reason for me switching to Whatsapp, initially. Compared to the texting, it also gives you the facility of exchanging videos, pictures, recordings, website links etc. in the shortest possible time as you are always online. Apps like Skype used a number as a contact reference, it is same in the case of Whatsapp but former holds the distinction of identifying the contacts, too. You just need to have the mobile number of the person and Whatsapp will automatically find it for you. Whatsapp provided features like sharing videos, pictures and audio files along with group chat facility which were not featured by many popular apps. Another distinguishing feature of Whatsapp over other apps is its compatibility with all popular mobile operating softwares and mobile developing companies. In this way Whatsapp managed to target a large number of people as compared to other apps which were supported only by smart phones.

Moving towards the developments that have taken place in Whatsapp’s versions over last six years or so, voice calling can be regarded as the most crucial advancement made by Whatsapp. You can call any person sitting anywhere in the world and all you need is an internet connection. So one can call anyone, anywhere, anytime and it will be free of cost. Previous versions of Whatsapp didn’t provide options like backing up of conversation files and removing of unwarranted chat files with reference to the time period whereas latest versions are equipped with such facilities.

Other changes include the previewing of links, starring of important message data, options provided in last seen feature, introduction of more emojis, marking the massages declaring them to be read or unread, muting notifications from groups or unwanted contacts, Whatsapp global search etc. Also the design of Whatsapp has undergone changes over the period of time as it has become much more attractive and catchy. Latest versions also have the option of blocking the contacts which are not in your contact list, but you still receive a message from them. You can report them as spam and block them.

People have become, somewhat, addicted to Whatsapp and this addiction is likely to increase in future as further developments are expected.

iPad Air 3 Leaked Specs an Features – Should We Be Surprised?

Apple is currently working on the iPad Air 3, which is expected to arrive in the Q1 of 2016, and lots of rumors are circulating on the internet about its specs. The fans will be disappointed to hear that the upcoming tablet won’t come with a pressure-sensitive 3D Touch display because there are problems with the supply chain for the components.

According to Kuo, Apple has encountered major difficulties and the situation is described as “one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain”, which is below 30 percent utilization. Regarding the price of the iPad Air 3, reports say that Apple will freeze it, because otherwise, its success would be compromised. There are plenty tablets on the market and the buyers are interested in buying the best device with the most affordable price.

The iPad Air 3 should ditch the 16GB variant of storage, which is very criticized by the Apple fans and reviewers, and it would be great it the manufacturer will listen to people’s demands and double the capacity of the internal memory.

It’s not sure if the size of the iPad Air 3’s display will be increased or it will stay the same, but its resolution is rumored to be increased to 2,334 x 3,112 pixels, from 1,536 x 2,048 pixels. The processor will be either A9 or A9X (the latter is used on the iPad Pro) and it will be backed by 2GB or 4GB of RAM, depending on what hardware configuration will choose Apple. The cameras won’t have a higher resolution because neither the iPad Pro has received upgraded cameras. But the design will be improved, as Apple is continuously making its devices thinner and thinner, and the iPad Air 3 will probably measure only 5mm.

The battery will be a surprise, but a negative surprise, because its capacity is expected to be reduced from 7,340mAh, in case the tablet will become thinner. This will lead to a decrease in battery life and the fans won’t be very happy about this.

Samsung Galaxy S6 vs. iPhone 6 – Who Will Win The Battle?

Samsung has finally brought the design change that all fans were waiting for. The most popular flagship has a more luxurious aspect, because it ditched the cheap looking polycarbonate shell, replacing it with a glossy glass back (Corning Gorilla Glass 4). Now, Samsung is finally at the same level as Apple in terms of build quality, but is the Galaxy S6 better than the iPhone 6, on the inside?

iPhone 6

The smartphone was released last year, being an improvement over the previous iPhone 5S, because of its larger screen, which measures 4.7-inch instead of 4-inch. Also, Apple worked on its design, making the edges curvier, for a better grip of the phone, and the wide bands at the top and bottom of the back have been replaced with two thin lines which are needed to hide the radio antennas.

The advantages of the iPhone 6 are – its thickness of 6.9mm, which makes it one of the first smartphones with a very slim body; also, the 8MP rear camera can take better pictures than most of the new smartphones, being a fine substitute for an average DSLR camera; the fingerprint scanner saves you from typing in your passcode, which can be quite in handy if you forget what code you’ve chosen; the iPhone 6 receives all iOS updates that Apple is releasing, so now it runs on iOS 9.2.

The disadvantages of the iPhone 6 – the small battery, which supports only 14 hours of talk time on 3G and 50 hours of music play; the processor is backed by 1GB of RAM, which is the limit for a decent performance.

Samsung Galaxy S6

The smartphone came in April 2015, surprising the fans with its glass and metal design. Samsung has made serious efforts to build a device that would be appreciated not only for its internal specs, but for its appearance as well.

The advantages of the Galaxy S6 – its Exynos 7420 octa core processor built using a 14 nm FinFET manufacturing process supports 3GB of RAM, and the performance of the device is flawless. The 16MP rear camera is definitely better than iPhone 6’s camera and the battery gives 17 hours of talk time on 3G, but unfortunately, Samsung has decided to make it irreplaceable.

The disadvantages of the Galaxy S6 – the new model is no longer water and dust resistant and after a while, the back gets scratched and looks terrible; also, the glass back is very vulnerable to cracks, so make sure you won’t drop it to the ground.

Adobe Flash Player 19 Update Comes With Almost 80 Fixes

Adobe Flash Player has received many new updates in the last four weeks. This looks like a desperate move from Adobe, as the company already knows that its Flash Player will most likely die in the next 1-2 years.

Adobe had to make these fixes a long time ago, as there are already big companies that decided to ditch the Adobe Flash Player and adopt HTML5. The new Adobe Flash Player update comes with 79 fixes and we’re pretty sure that this is the last patch that this application will receive until the end of the year.

Unfortunately, this new update doesn’t solve all the issues that these applications, but it solves some of the critical issues that had to be fixed fast. With other words, you should update your Adobe Flash Player right away, as this update fixes many issues that this application has been confronting with for quite a while.

According to Wolfgang Kandek, the chief technology office at Qualys confirmed that three of the vulnerabilities that were just fixed have allowed hackers in the past to gain code execution running under the users in the browser.

We remind you that flash based attacked are one of the favorite ways for hackers to gain access of your device. According to Chris Goettl, product manager at Chris Shavlik, the APSB15-32 is “a priority 1” update for Adobe Flash Player that resolves 78 vulnerabilities. Goettl added that this new update patches a big amount of number of code execution vulnerabilities along with a few security feature bypass vulnerabilities.

At the same time, Google has released an update for its Chrome browser, which includes security fixes and support for the new Flash Player version.

It seems that Adobe is trying desperately now to make its Flash Player more secure. Unfortunately for them, the Adobe Flash Player will probably be used by fewer and fewer users and HTML5 will take its place.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha, S5, S5 Neo, Tab A and S6 Edge Updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow

The big search engine company has already started rolling the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA update for some Nexus devices. However, other manufacturers such as Samsung are now releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update for their smartphones and tablets.

According to SamsungViet, a well known Samsung tipster, a good amount of Samsung devices, smartphones and tablets, will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update in the first quarter of 2016. It seems that the South Korean based company will start releasing the update for the current Galaxy Note series along with the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy Note 4 Duos.

The rollout is also imminent for the Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Duos, as well as for the previous lineups such as the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, Galaxy S5 Neo and Galaxy S5.

When it comes to Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Alpha, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update will be released a bit later, sometime in the second quarter of 2016.

However, it’s not sure yet if Samsung is planning to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update on these devices or the company will release directly the Android 6.0.1 update for them. If Samsung will keep the pattern of releasing updates like in the past, the devices will jump over the base Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, directly to the latest Android OS version that will be available then (currently, it is Android 6.0.1).

According to Android Authority, the Galaxy S6 device was already spotted on a benchmark website, where it was seen running on Android 6.0.1 version.

Do you think that many Samsung devices will jump directly to Android 6.0.1 and skip the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS?

Samsung Galaxy S7 And HTC X9 Latest Leaks – What’s New To Offer?

Currently, the Android world is preoccupied with finding new information related to two of the most important upcoming smartphones, Samsung’s Galaxy S7, which will come with a force-touch enabled screen, and HTC’s One X9, which will have a FHD display. A leaked image of the latter has appeared on the internet, along with the expected specs.

Galaxy S7

Most of the new features that Apple is adding to its devices are borrowed from Android and other mobile phone manufacturers, such as the split-screen mode, picture-in-picture video, Keyboard shortcuts, wireless charging etc. But in 2015, Apple has made a spectacular move, by using a force sensitive display on its iPhone 6S and 6S Plus devices, and Samsung wants to follow in the footsteps of its biggest rival. Therefore, the Galaxy S7 will come with its own version of Force Touch display and we’ll see if this rumor will be confirmed at the CES event, when the flagship is expected to be unveiled.

All the other rumored specs are: a 5.1-inch Quad HD 2560 x 1440 pixels display (the S7 Plus will have a 6-inch screen); two variants of processors: octa-core Snapdragon 820 / Exynos 8890, which will be backed by 4GB of RAM (the two types of configurations will be available in certain regions, according to Samsung’s preferences); 32/64/128 GB storage options, but it’s not sure if they will support expansion; 16 / 20 MP BRITECELL rear camera with OIS and other features; a 8 / 12 MP front camera; the usual fingerprint scanner supporting Samsung Pay; wireless and quick charging; USB Type-C port for charging; Bottom Speaker and Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, skinned by a refined TouchWiz.

HTC One X9

This will be a mid-range smartphone with a 5.5-inch 5.5-inch Full HD display, which is fighting against other similar devices such as Samsung’s Galaxy A9, but it looks more like the HTC One A9, which Apple has said that it looks almost identical to its iPhones. A leaked image of this device has surfaced the internet and it seems that it will have a metal frame and a front camera positioned on the right side, not in the center, likewise on the Desire Eye. The rumors say that the rear camera will be 13MP and will support 4K video recording and inside, it will house an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor which will be backed by 2GB of RAM. Its internal memory will be 16GB and will support expansion, while the battery will have a capacity of 3000mAh.

VLC Media Player Update Download Available By Chrome OS – All Video and Audio Codecs

VLC comes with many video and audio codecs, and the application is able to run almost any type of media file. The VLC application continued what BSPlayer has started, but it came with more features and it was running way better than other media players.

Well, we have some good news for all VLC lovers, as this media player is finally supported by Chrome OS. The VLC player has been downloaded almost a billion times by users that own devices that run on either Mac OS X, Linux, Android, iOS or Windows.

Until now, the Chromebook owners were limited to the media files that were supported by the Chrome OS media player. After the new update, all the Chrome OS users will be able to download the VLC directly from the Chrome Web Store.

The VLC version for Chrome OS works like any other version from other operating systems, supporting all audio and video formats such as DVD ISO, FLAC, MKV and more. Also, the users are now able to stream media files from internet sources or local with all features that the application comes with, such as: audio equalizer, subtitles, hardware accelerated decoding, accelerated playback and more.

It is good to know that VLC made its debut in Chrome OS back in March 2015 and it’s still not known why the developers needed nine months to make the application reach the surface and be available for anyone that owns Chrome OS device. Unfortunately, the VLC developers are still warning the users that this is an initial release. With other words, the users will most likely find glitches and bugs but these issues will be solved in time.

So, if you are installing this application on your Chrome OS device, keep in mind that there are chances for the application to crash while you watch a movie or while playing your favorite song. However, we’re sure that the developers will fix most of the found issues pretty fast and soon enough we will have a bug-free VLC version for Chrome OS devices.
