HTC One M9 vs. Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge – Full Metal Body Or Glass And Metal With a Curved Display?

The HTC One M9 wasn’t as improved as many hoped, and many fans were very disappointed of the almost identical design of the new model, while on the front side you won’t notice any changes, the camera from the back has a square lens, instead of a circular one. The Galaxy S6 Edge has the same specs like the Galaxy S6, but its screen is curved on both sides.

Designs and Displays

While the One M9 has a typical design like most of the HTC devices, featuring a metallic back, curved on the edges, and two horizontal lines at the top and bottom, which hide the radio antennas. HTC has added a dual-tone look, and some phones have the metal frame painted in pink (rose gold), while the back is gold or silver. But there are also variants with a single color, such as gunmetal gray, amber gold or pink. On the front side, you’ll see the two BoomSound speakers enhanced with Dolby Audio technology. The device weights 157grams, it measures 144.6×69.7×9.6mm (it’s 0.2mm thicker than the M8) and its display has the same size and resolution as the one from the One M8 – 5-inch (Super LCD3) supporting 1080x1920pixels at 441ppi.

The Galaxy S6 Edge has a glass back available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum or Green Emerald colors, the frame which covers the edges is following the screen which is curved on the right and left sides and the diagonal of the Super AMOLED measures 5.1-inch, but the resolution is higher at 1440x2560pixels (577ppi). Also, the images look more vibrant, oversaturated, and sharper. The device is a bit shorter, but much slimmer than its rival, measuring 142.1×70.1x7mm, while it weights 132grams.

The One M9 is one of the first flagships that came equipped with a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor clocked at 2GHz, but many fans complained about the over heating issues which appear after a few minutes of overuse. But the processor is very fast and it supports multi tasking and complex games, as the configuration is very advanced, being helped by the Adreno 430 graphics and 3GB of RAM. If you need extra storage because 32GB is not enough for you, then you can add a microSD card and expand the capacity up to 200GB.

The Galaxy S6 Edge is as powerful as the Galaxy S6, featuring the same processor, an Exynos 7420 with four cores clocked at 1.5GHz and four cores are running at 2.1GHz. In all tests, the Samsung flagship proved that it is very capable and better than many new devices which are powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor. The Galaxy S6 Edge has a Mali-T760MP8 GPU, which is backed by 3GB of RAM, but the internal memory is unexpandable and available in variants of 32/64/128 GB.

Cameras and Batteries

The One M9 has an advanced main camera with a higher resolution of 20MP, but the list of features is poorer, as it offers only autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, HDR and 4K video capture. The Galaxy S6 Edge has a 16Mp main camera with OIS, autofocus, LED flash and 4K video capture, but it has a larger aperture of f1.9, compared to f2.2, which is supported by the One M9, the galaxy S6 Edge has a 5MP front camera which supports auto HDR, while the One M9 takes selfies with a 4MP Ultrapixel secondary camera which supports HDR.

According to GSMArena, the One M9 can offer up to 22 hours of talking time on 3G with its 2840 mAh battery, with four hours more than Galaxy S6 Edge’s 2600 mAh battery.

Adobe Flash Player Version 11.1 Plugin Download Available for UC Browser

UC Browser is one of the best browsers for smartphone devices. At the same time, this browser supports Flash plug-in, which is great for making sure that you will be able to play any flash content that websites have.

After installing Adobe Flash Player in the UC Browser, you will notice that you can download and manage videos very easy. At the same time, the users are able to see the web pages on their mobile devices just like they are seen on the PC.

We agree that a good amount of pages have already ditched the Adobe Flash Player in favor of the HTML5, but there are still lots of web pages supporting Adobe Flash Player and it will take a few years until a good amount of web pages will ditch this player and adopt HTML5.

We agree the Adobe Flash Player still has a lot of issues, bugs and errors, but since there are still many web pages supporting it, there is no point uninstalling it from your browser. So, until HTML5 will be used by a good amount of websites, we suggest you to install the Adobe Flash Player 11.1 Plug-in on the UC Browser.

Using Adobe Flash Player on your browser you will be able to stream videos online, play flash games and more. If you use Google Chrome, don’t mind about this plug-in, as you don’t need it on that browser, but if you use any other browser, this plug-in is surely necessarily.

It is good to know that the flash crashes that are common with Mozilla Firefox will happen very rarely on UC Browser or Dolphin, where flash generally works very smoothly.

HINT: Adobe Flash Player 11.1 update is available for smartphones that run on Android 4.0 or previous versions, as the support for this plug-in has been discontinued for earlier Android versions.

However, soon enough, the device was updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop and can now be updated to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Do you think that the Galaxy E7 will be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in January 2016 or it will take longer until this device will receive the latest Android OS?

Raspberry Pi vs. Arduino – Two Cheap Alternatives To A High-End Chip

We all know that a computer with a superior performance is very expensive and not everyone can afford to buy a new one. Not many people are able to save money in order to buy a PC or a laptop with a superior configuration and they prefer to wait one year or two, when their prices are reduced or they buy used ones at a half price. If you live in a country with a poor economy and you can’t afford to buy a premium device, then you can build your own computer and use a cheap chip. There are two alternatives which you can use for your DIY configuration: the Raspberry Pi SoC, which runs in a full version of Linux, and Arduino, which is a micro-controller which supports hundreds of expansion chips.

Raspberry Pi

If you’ll buy the Raspberry Pi, you’ll have a fully functional computer which contains a dedicated processor, graphics driver and memory. It’s compatible with Linux software and you can use it as a media streamer or video game emulator. Also, you will need to buy separate SD cards, because the chipset doesn’t include internal storage.

If you’re looking for a micro-controller, then Arduino is the best product to spend your money on. It’s not working on a full OS, as it only executes written code and the firmware interprets it. This means that you won’t get the basic tools offered by a typical OS, but it will be easier to execute simple code. Arduino is in fact a sophisticated system which interfaces with other devices and sensors, replacing full operating systems which couldn’t handle simple read and response actions.

Power Requirements

The Raspberry Pi needs 5V power to not shut down and to turn it off, you will do with via a software process, just like doing it on a traditional computer. Things are different with the Arduino, which starts executing code when it’s turned on, and when pulling out the plug, it stops. The device has pins on the board and when adding functionality, you will wire directly into them, or you will stack “shields” (each one performs a different task) on top of the base unit.

Even if there are a variety of interface ports on both devices, Arduino will allow you connect analog sensors much easier. They will be interpreted and the microcontroller will respond to data according to the code you’re putting on it. You will need special software for the Pi to be able to interface correctly with these sorts of devices.

The Pi comes with a built-in Ethernet port, so you can access any network, while to connect to a WiFi network, you will need to buy a USB Wi-Fi dongle, then install its driver. The operating system will be able to connect to web servers and you will browse the internet without a problem.

The Arduino will require an extra chip equipped with an Ethernet port and you must be good at wiring and coding, or otherwise, it will not work.

iPad Mini 4 vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 – Which Ones Wins This Battle?

The iPad Mini 4 was overshadowed by the iPad Pro and it didn’t receive much attention when it was unveiled in September. The tablet is a big upgrade over its predecessor and it’s in a direct competition with Samsung’s smaller version of the Galaxy Tab S2, which was officially released in September.

Designs and Displays

The iPad Mini 4 is slightly taller and comparatively slimmer than the iPad Mini 3, measuring 203.2×134.8×6.1mm (its predecessor has a thickness of 7.5mm), and it has a sleek aluminum body available in three color options: Space Gray, Silver and Gold. On the right side were placed the volume and silent/screen rotation buttons, at the top sit the microphone and headphone jack and at the bottom are situated the speaker and dock connector slot. The WiFi variant weights 299grams, while the 3G/LTE is 5 grams heavier.

The Tab S2 is much slimmer and lighter, measuring 198.6×134.8×5.6mm and weighting 265grams (WiFi) or 272grams (LTE). It has a less premium design, as its body is made of two variants of plastic, and its variants of colors include white and black gold. You’ll find the power button, volume rocker and microSD card slot on the right side, while on the bottom side sit two speakers which are separated by a headphone jack and a Micro-USB port.

The iPad Mini 4 has a Retina display sized at 7.9-inch, which offers a resolution of 1536x2048pixels at 324ppi and an aspect ratio of 4:3. The Tab S2 sports a Super AMOLED with almost the same diagonal (it’s only 0.1-inch larger), but it supports the same resolution. However, it seems that the pixel density is a bit lower at 320ppi, but the difference is unnoticeable.

The iPad Mini 4 doesn’t have the latest A9 processor, but the A8, which has two cores clocked at 1.5GHz, which are backed by 2GB of RAM. There are three variants of internal memories, just like on the iPhone 6S: 16/64/128 GB and the pricing starts at $399.

The Galaxy Tab S2 is powered by an Exynos 5433 processor with four cores clocked at 1.9GHz and four cores clocked at 1.3GHz, but the chipsets supports 3GB of RAM, and this configuration works perfectly with Android v5.0.2 (Lollipop). Also, you can expand one of the two variants of internal memories of 32GB or 64GB up to 128 GB.

Cameras and Batteries

Both tablets are equipped with an 8MP back camera which lacks LED flash and other high end features, but the images have a quality above average, they’re pretty accurate and realistic. The front cameras are recommendable for making video calls, because their resolutions are very low – 1.2MP (iPad Mini 4) and 2.1MP (Galaxy Tab S2).

The iPad Mini 4 is kept alive for ten hours by the 5124 mAh battery (19.1 Wh) when making voice calls, but the Tab S2 claims to last up to 27 hours with its smaller 4000 mAh battery.

HTC One M9 vs. One M10 – What Specs and Features Will Have the Upcoming Flagship?

It’s a bit too early to talk about the specs and features of the upcoming One M10, because there isn’t more information about his flagship, but we’ll present you a list of rumors which have surfaced lately. So, get ready to meet the new One M10, which could be released sooner than its predecessor.

One M10

It seems that the first images of the One M10 already reached the internet, being published by the Chinese website Mobile-Dad. In the images, the One M10 has a sleek body with slim bezels and its back is made of metal, as usual. The phone really needs a design overhaul, because its predecessor is almost identical to the One M8 and we don’t know what HTC could think of, but the curved aluminum unibody with two thin lines at the top and bottom is obsolete, although the device looks premium. And considering that Apple accused HTC of making its HTC One A9 look almost identical to an iPhone, it’s time for a big improvement.

Regarding the internal specs, the One M10 is expected to feature the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 3.X GHz octa-core HMP cyclone processor which will support 4GB of RAM. The internal memory might come in variants of 64GB and 128GB, with the possibility to add a microSD card for expansion, and the main camera might be upgraded to 27MP and the screen will finally support a 4K resolution, like most of the new flagships. But its size won’t suffer, although there were rumors saying that the One M10 will have a 6-inch screen. Most likely, the device will stick to its old 5-inch screen. As for the battery, it will have a capacity of 3,500mAh and will be quick charged via the Type-C port. The retail price of the One M10 will be between $650 and $800, depending on the internal memory or specifications. The device might come with a fingerprint scanner, as Marshmallow has now support for fingerprint readers, allowing the users to make online payments using Android Pay.

One M9

The phone offers a Full HD resolution on its 5-inch Super LCD3 screen, it’s powered by a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor clocked at 2GHz, which is backed by 3GB of RAM, and it’s planned to be upgraded to Android Marshmallow. Its main camera has been upgraded from 4MP Ultrapixel (which has been moved to its front side) to 20MP, featuring dual-LED flash and autofocus. The battery lasts around 22 hours and comes with HTC’s Rapid Charger 2.0 feature, while the capacity is 2840 mAh.

Viber v5.6.5 Allows You To Delete Sent Messages

Viber doesn’t have as many active users as WhatsApp, but in comparison to other applications, it has a feature which allows making voice not only to other Viber users, but also to mobile and landline numbers. The application is 5 years old and throughout time, it received many updates which fixed bugs and brought new features, the latest version is 5.6.5 and it came with three new features.

The update is available for both Android and iOS and the users can now able to delete messages after sending them, there are situations when the users send a message to the wrong person, or the message contains typos and it needs to be rechecked. Either way, the new feature which was introduced in version 5.6.5 will save you from embarrassing moments, as you will be able to remove a message from all members of the conversation, right after sending it. In order to do that, in Android you will need to long-press the text bubble and selecting the option to Delete for everyone. In iOS, the method is similar, as you’d have to long-press the bubble, then to choose Delete>Delete for everyone. The good news is that there’s no time limit for deleting the message after it has been sent.

Another feature will allow you to easily attach files (documents, presentations, archives etc.) in the contact list. Also, sharing images and videos with your friends is easier from the More screen in Android, and from iCloud in iOS, if your iPhone runs on iOS9, you can reply to messages without needing to open the application. Also, you can use the Spotlight search to search for conversations and contacts.

Viber v5.6.5 is available for download from the Google Play store for Android and App Store for iOS, if you’re about to download this application and use it for the first time, then you should know that your ID will be your personal mobile number.

Apple Watch vs. Moto 360 2015 – Two Stunning Smartwatches Compared

The smartwatch sector exploded in 2014, even if the biggest absent was Apple. Motorola was already making waves with its first Moto 360 handset, while Apple was still working on its Apple Watch smartwatch, which was finally unveiled at the end of April 2015. Meanwhile, Motorola has released another Moto 360 which runs on Android Wear (based on Android 5.1.1) and it’s compatible even with iPhones. Here’s a comparison between the Apple Watch and Moto 360 2015.

The Moto 360 was included in the Moto Maker customization program, so you can choose any design you like from the website. The standard model comes with a stainless steel case which is available in colors such as rose gold, black or silver. The watch is compatible with any watch band and on the side is located a button which sends the device to sleep. There aren’t many ways to interact with the Moto 360 and this is a big disadvantage.

The Apple Watch has a more premium look, being available in three variants of designs. The Apple Watch model has a polished space black stainless steel body; the Apple Watch Sport model comes with a body that’s made of space gray or silver anodized aluminum; the Apple Watch Edition is the flagship version with a 18-karat rose or yellow gold body.

The Moto 360 has a rounded display which is available in two variants of sizes. The smaller one has a diameter of 42mm with a resolution of 360 x 325 pixels, while the larger display measures 64mm and supports 360 x 330 pixels. The reason why there are two variants of screen sizes is because the company wanted to please both women and men customers.

It’s the same case with Apple’s watch, which has a version with a 38mm screen which supports a resolution of 272 x 340 pixels, while the larger screen measures 42mm and supports 312 x 390 pixels. The screen uses retina technology and features a layer of sapphire on top of it, so it’s very resistant to scratches.

The Moto 360 supports wireless Qi charging, but the smaller model houses a 300 mAh battery, while the larger variant comes with a bigger 400mAh unit. Either way, depending on how much you’re using the smartwatch, it can last between one day and a half and two days.

The Apple Watch has a small battery of only 205mAh for the 38mm version and it is charged via a MagSafe connector and usually, you’ll squeeze 18 hours of runtime from this model, depending on what you’re doing on it.

Interface, Sensors and Features

The Apple Watch runs on Watch OS, which is based on iOS, but it has a home screen that contains lots of circles representing applications. When tapping on a cluster, you will zoon in, and to open an application you will tap on the app icon. The watch will allow you to interact with it using Siri and Digital Crown, and the list of sensors contains an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a barometer and a heart rate processor. The Apple Watch supports also NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11b/g.

The Moto 360 runs on Android Wear and it’s compatible with a bunch of Android smartphones, as well as iPhones. You won’t see a home screen, while the app launcher is hidden in Settings and the only way to interact with the watch is via Google Now, by saying ok Google and giving the voice command. The Moto 360 has an optical heart rate monitor, a pedometer and an ambient light sensor. It doesn’t support NFC, but it comes with Bluetooth 4.0.
